National medal of recognition for victims of terrorism awarded for the first time in the U.S.

SUMMARY

In 2016, the French government created a medal to honor victims of terrorism on the French territory. For the first time, three Americans received this medal: Sean Copeland (posthumously), Brodie Copeland (posthumously) and Matthew Goff.

Officials from the Department of Justice, the FBI and the Department of State were present to honor them and to recall the close cooperation between France and the United States in the fight against terrorism.
